Charity Chopper Done

Well I think this project is finally done. Everything and anything that could go wrong did. It is not one of my best pieces but considering how much frustration was in this project, I think I did pretty well to finish. I will be dropping it off in the morning and I hope all is good. I know the client has not been impressed but I really worked hard on this one to complete and not go insane. This project was a lesson in custom work!

The Nightmare Continues

I delivered the tank, rear fender and the oil tank. It took forever to get done and I still have to wetsand the rest of the parts but the job is finally getting done. The client is not happy but wants a perfect job.

After two weeks of nightmares I came to the conclusion that the clear coat I got was expired and the start of all this trouble. It cost me time and money and I am not sure if I can restore this clients confidence but getting this one under my belt is my first priority.

I am going to take a few days off to clear my brain before I finish. I have spent so many long days on this and I need to stay sane.

Charity Chopper Nightmare

So I am still not done this project. After two weeks of anything that could go wrong did, I finally got a couple of good days. The base went down well and I got a good coat of clear.

I had finished the bike but was not happy with the work. I stopped in to drop the pieces off and as I expected headed back home with the pieces. I had more work to do. I spent the next week and the Easter weekend fixing the pieces. I ended up repainting the Basecoat and then finally a new coat of clear.

I was finally able to get rid of the fisheye and other than a few specs that I will sand out, I will be ready to wetsand and put another couple coats of clear before buffing.

Although this has been a trying experience, if I can get this done I will have learned a lot in a short period of time. I have seen the bike and it is amazing. I hope my paint will do it justice.
